Way To Go! Commuter Challenge

The 2010 event is in the planning stages, so watch for details to appear over the next several months as plans are formalized. The year 2010 will mark a transition of the event from the oversight by CCMPO to VEIC (Vermont Energy Investment Corporation) to effectively move the program statewide.
Pool to School
A number of schools in Vermont participated this year for the 6th annual "Pool to School" event to highlight carpooling and public transportation. This provides an opportunity for parents whose children attend the same school to join and/or form a carpool to the child's school. The Program in Vermonyt is geared to area 4th, 5th and 6th grade students.
Students were asked to draw posters which are submitted to RCT. County winners traveled to the Vermont Statehouse where they were presented with Certificates from Governor Jim Douglas. In the course or his presentation, the Governor commented how much he admires and approves of the program and would like to see it expand to other areas of the State.
